Meledam Narayanan was
born on May 16, 1973. His father is Narayanan Namboodiri. N.M. and mother is Devaki Antharjanam. His basic education is BSc (Mathematics) and BEd (Mathematics).
When he was at the age of 8, started learning 'Karnatic' music under Mr. A.Sahadevan. After 5 years he learned Kathakali Music from Palanad Divakaran for 7 years and then continued under Kalamandalam Sankaran Embranthiri for 5 years. At the same time he joined Kerala Kalamandalam for 2 months short term course in Kathakali Music under the guidance of Madambi Subrahmanian Namboothiri.
