Kalamandalam Satheesan was
born on Nov 11, 1957. His father is M.S. Narayanan Namboodiripad and mother is Parvathy Antharjanam.
After SSLC he joined Kerala Kalamandalam in 1979 and learned Chutti (Makeup) and Koppu (Costumes) for 2 years. Then he did Post Graduation Course of one year. During 1985-86 he got Central Govt Scholarship for 2 years. Has learned Chutti and Koppu under Gopala Pillai and Kalamandalam Ram Mohan. Now he is working as Chutti Teacher in Peroor Gandhi Seva Sadanam.
Has expertise in Chutti of all types of characters and all types of costumes for different characters. Also expertised in Chutti of Koodiyattam and Costumes for Koodiyattam and Thullal. Has done Chutti to Mohanlal for the film Vanaprastham and to Vineeth for the film Parinayam.
Has participated in Kathakali performances all over Kerala and India. Also performed in European countries for six times.
Family: Wife A.R. Savithri. Two sons Sumod and Sanoop.
