Kalamandalam Vasunni. was born on Feb 25, 1954. His father is T.S.R. Nambiar and mother is Saraswathi Maruvalama.

Has born at Cherpalachery, Kerala, and brought up in the cultural atmosphere of classical performing arts. Trained rigorously in Kathakali under famous artists Kalamandalam Gopi and Kalamandalam Padmanabhan Nair, in the foremost institution of the art, Kerala Kalamandalam. He won a National Scholarship during his post diploma studies. Even as a student he attracted the attention of the connoisseurs by his performances. He has done performing tours to the USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Russia, Turkey, Italy, Poland and Srilanka. He was inducted as a lecture of Kathakali by the Nalanda Dance Research Centre affiliated to Bombay University in 1980.

In 1982 he joined as a Lecturer in Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan in 1990 as a Senior lecturer in their music and Dance department, Sangit Bhavan. Today he is a name to reckon with in Bharathanatyam and Rabindra Nritha. He performed all these three different Dance forms all over India.
